if theres a prize for guessing how many birds are in that avairy(page 82) ill have a go . i think if you put one on ,as many birds are as happy to sit in it , will . the only thing i would do pete is put a roof on it ,a clear one for light but a rainproof one ,and another thing ,if your having stock birds in there i would think aboout having a step in ,to close one door behind you ,before opening the one that gives access to the birds. have heard many a story where a stock bird "went straight over my shoulder" and gone .          ramble over with .   andy.

I used PVC Corrugated Sheeting for the roof of my avairy but found sparrows were getting in through the gaps. If your thinking of using Corrugated sheeting I would lay it on wire mesh.

I have two aviaries and I always make them in the following way. Panels of 2"x1" softwood. The sizes are  6' X 3' covered on 1/2" x 1" 19 gauge weld mesh. These panels are then made with two coss pieces. Perches are 3"x2" resting on the cross pieces. The perches are easily removed for cleaning. The floor is made of heavy 2"x2" weldmesh  with a 1' gap underneath. I have a hose pipe close by and I wash the floors out occasionally.

The roofs are partly covered.

There is no doubt that the birds like the aviaries and it is a good way to get them to enjoy a bath without being attacked by sparrow hawks.
