How Far For First Race

How far have they been trained,what type of terrain are they flying,how old are they,when training have they been coming in a flock or broken up,have you plenty just incase of a bad toss and can you rely on the weather.Years ago it would have been no problem,now fanciers are loosing well trained pigeons from 50 mile.

You pays your money you take the chance these days.

no not too far at all , mine will have their first race this weekend about that distance , they have missed the first 3 races , first 2 were 85 mile and 3rd was about 115 mile , I expect them to do it without any issues.

 

As greenland says it also depends on the amount of training etc

my first race was 7 weeks ago and was 40 miles . this week is 100 miles and i can only send about 4 due to losing so many in all the races so far :(
