showman Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Just to inform those members on site of the sudden passing of my old mate of the past 36 years, W.J. ( Joe ) Higginson of Lurgan. He passed peacefully in his sleep early this morning at hospital. I purchased my first birds from Joe, his old Fabry / Sion pigeons, and remember giving him £3.00 a pair for youngsters. Later in our friendship, we became partners with showracers, and were very successful. He was a fancier of the 'old brigade', and I will cherish the memories of our time and success together. Sleep the perfect sleep, my good friend.I'll be lost without you. Paul
paddymac Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 I'm sure you will miss him showman, RIP Joe.
showman Posted June 19, 2010 Author Report Posted June 19, 2010 I'm sure you will miss him showman, RIP Joe. You're right there Pat. We buried Joe yesterday (Friday) and I've been in a pretty bad twist since. Over the past year, I was determined to come back into pigeons again........now, I don't know. A future in pigeons without him doesn't sit right with me. As I said, a strange feeling, hard to describe !
