Keepsmilingqueen Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 i call em street peckers ;D i feel sorry for the poor blighters, i think its amazing how they survive with only 1 leg or an eye missing :'( i saw one in the town centre the other week and one of its legs was totally gone, not even a stump left for support poor thing ive oftern wondered of all the birds lost over the years if there is a street pecker in a town centre with my ring on it. the law of probability most likely suggests in my oppinion somewhere there is :B

pigeonpete Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Streeters, in cheshire and yes there are always a few with rings on, about 2 years ago i caught 7 with rings on in the town (got some rite funny looks) :X lol. reported them all 3 wanted them back and sent for them 2 never got back to me. and 2 i kept. one of the birds the guy wanted back had been missing 3 years and had won twice from the channel, he e-mailed me copies of the prize cards aswell!! had been living as a " streeter for 3 years dont know if he bred owt good from it. will try and find his details and e-mail him.

Guest Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 we call them streeters here in yorkshire, however there is some nice looking birds in town with rings on someone somewhere are missing some cracking birds.my wife said we should try and catch them and find out who they belong to but people would think we escaped from the local looney bin lol
