T_T Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 Matthew, You will find in this hobby, there are more downs than ups. The ups you talk about forever, the downs will always be remembered but you get over them and come back for more. I'm sure you'll have more good pigeons.
bren23 Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 DON'T GIVE UP FRIEND OF MINE HAD HIS BEST 24 RACERS KILLED BY A FOX AT CHRISTMAS,ONE COCK HAD 7 1STS ANOTHER HAD 6 1STS A HEN HAD 4 1STS AND SO ON. HE WAS DEVESTATED BUT HAS BOUNCED BACK THIS SEASON AND WON 3 RACES OUT OF 6 HE HAS SENT TO, SO WHEN IT LOOKS REAL sh** THINGS DO GET BETTER KEEP YOUR CHIN UP
Guest Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 Agree with other posts. Dreadful year for lots of folk [me too :'( ] for losses and / or birds coming home injured. Only yesterday, after tempting fate talking about PMV vaccination on forum, decided to do my youngbirds and managed to 'do' one in in the process. > Horrible, horrible feeling. > Hope things improve ... for you ;D me ;D and everyone else !!!
jimmy white Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 dont give up my freind, i think weve all had things in the past, one year i lost every single hen i had in the training wagon , when it went on fire [22]pure accident ,no bodies fault. then way back my loft was broken in to every bird stolen, all birds back after a few days , rings cut off them all,,, there are unfortunately, more downs than ups in pigeon racing, but with a little determination, youll get there, so sorry all this has happened to you and wish you luck for the future
Matthew Posted July 9, 2006 Author Report Posted July 9, 2006 cheers the second bird i spoke about has arrived today
THE FIFER Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 KEEP GOING MATE, WE KNOW IT'S EASY FOR OTHERS TO SAY BUT DON'T LET THIS GET U DOWN, WE HAVE ALL BEEN IN THE SAME BOAT AT ONE TIME, ALL THE BEST.
GROVEHOMER Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 Stick with it Matthew, T-T is right, there are more downs than ups, but like he says the ups will be talked about forever. This season, I can think about two local fanciers who were having a bad time of it just prior to them producing phenomenal wins!.... they soon forgot their misfortunes. IT'S ALWAYS DARKEST JUST BEFORE THE DAWN.
Roland Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 Well I wasn't breeding any as they weere past ... so I bought 30 y/b's... I lost 11 off the top of the loft nigh straight away... Had them in and out nice, though not ranging of circuling ... when hit by a fed. Got one back.
swilcox Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 Mate Amongst these ybs will your next topper, as one passes another will rise to the top! Many a good pigeon is lost in battle hence the term "racing is silver breeding is gold" Stuart
