Tony C Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Should members of the RPRA accept the fact that ETS will be with us in the near future. If the rules allowed could they give us say 2 years grace of its implementation, this would give clubs time to apply for lottery grants, hold sales and the like. Me, I see it coming in, think it more of the case of when not if.
T_T Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Have no fear it will be here.!!!!! Like you Tony, I think it's just a matter of time and people applying for grants I feel, should apply with the cost of the system in their mind. Myself ? I'm thinking of getting the hammer and nails out for the adaption.

mickmcgrevy Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Hi all, I think I have said something similar to this on another site, but I will repeat it here. First let me say that I don't care if it comes in or not, it will never be compusary, and the vast majority of members will still use the conventional clock, so no fears re cost of ETS. However, it is inevitable that it will come in and sooner rather than later I would say, then we will have to wait and see what effect it has on the fancy, I understand that it split the scottish lads. There will no doubt be members in clubs for it and some against, will it result ib clubs dissbanding and reforming? we will have to wait and see. Mick
Pompey Mick Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Pigeon fanciers everywhere will still be able to use their conventional clocks, and in most cases the winners will still be the winners no matter what system is used. I've just been doing the cards for this years races and the vast majority of races would have been won by the same people whether they clocked with ETS or conventional. They closest race was 3 seconds difference, all the rest were over 20 secs or more in front. It will be the same as when any new gadget hits the street, they're always dear to start with, but the price starts to level out when secondhand and refurbished models appear on the market. Look at the T3, when it first appeared on the market it was a select few fanciers that acquired them, they were a bit of a status symbol in the beginning, but they are common-place now.
THE FIFER Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 the fanciers who changed from scotland because of ets are with the rpra now
Pompey Mick Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Fifer, do you think the Scottish fanciers who joined the RPRA because of ETS will return if the RPRA sanctions its use?
pigeonpete Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 The sooner the better for me ;D ;D let people use what they want to use dont start arguing with me anyone plz ;D
Henrik Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Fifer, do you think the Scottish fanciers who joined the RPRA because of ETS will return if the RPRA sanctions its use? Some of them may return but some you can keep as we dont want them.
THE FIFER Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 POMPEY MICK, I DO NOT THINK IT WILL MAKE MUCH DIFFERENCE AS THEY TOOK THE DESISSION TO GO THERE WAY, IT'S A PITY AS WE CAN DO WITH LARGER ORGANISATIONS THESE DAYS NOT SMALLER ONES, BUT THIS IS HOW IT IS AND THE QUICKER WE ALL ON BOTH SIDES ACCEPT THIS THE BETTER IT IS GOING TO BE FOR THE SPORT, IF ANY WANT TO COME BACK THEN SO BE IT OR IF ANYBODY WANTS TO CHANGE THE SAME, SO LETS ALL JUST GET ON, AND PLEASE DO NOT TURN THIS THREAD INTO THE SAME OLD BANTER AND AGRO, THE SITE CAN DO WITH SOME HARMONY,
