As with all business if you buy in bulk the price will come down.at the moment these ETS company are selling x amount of rings if the RPRA change the ruling so anyone can use ets, surley the price will come down. The Ets companys will be able to drop their prices.

the cost of the raw material to make the rings would drop, thus meaning the cost of the ring to the ETS company will drop, this enabling them to sell to the fanciers at a lower price, but they will still be making the % they are looking for.

In my shop if i buy one box of hacksaw blades, i pay say £170. But if i bought 50 boxes this price would drop to somewhere in the region of £40 per box.

Also the different ETS companys will be wanting your custom and this would start a price war between the different ones.

I hope all this makes sense.

just my opinion.

DOUBT VERY MUCH IF THE PRICE WILL DROP,THEY HAVE THE BALL AT THEIR  FEET AND WHEN THIS IS THE CASE THE PIGEON FOLK GET EVERY PENNY SCREWED OUT THEM

Geraint Parry don't believe they will drop ... was other here once fantasti inducements to entice us before.... But if that was the cas, surely with all the other COUNTRIES that they sell to the cost is as low as they want to be... will only go up I asertain within a year I'd wager, when we are able to have them.

Seen from the Thatchers questions and privatisation, everything is in real terms a darn site dearer, and this is especially so when the average working hour rate is adhered to. ... Like selling of the Railways real cheap to enable te improvemnets etc. And we the TAX PAYER are bolstering it up now with our money even more... and can one really say they are a sucess now! Golly in even the war years when in black outs, they ket time. Snow rain or wind didn't stop them. Are dare one really suggest that when held by the ball's - as THATCHER said to Scargill - the rest of the body follows. Now rest assured price will go up.

Why does the rpra not consider building the chip into their own rings to work with ets? may be saving having 2 rings on the bird also reducing costs

hi andrew

i think hungarians are testing  these rings with the chip built into the metal ring sure i have seen it on this site somewhere

correct bart there are some field trials ongoing just now to see how these will work, they are only slightly larger than our normal rings and would be a good idea, what i would like to find out is can they make one  ring to suit all the different systems as they only contain what is programmed onto them ie..the ring no and security code. would it not make sense for just one company to manufacture them and therefore reduce the costs etc........any ideas.

What price are you paying for ETS Chip Rings ???

The chip rings for my Unikon clock are $2.10 US Dollars.  The bad part is there is only one distributor for the bands.  Although they have very minimally dropped in price they are still expensive.  As far as putting an electronic chip in a seamless band that could be a mistake because sometimes the chip fails and you have to replace it.  The important part with the e-bands are to have your birds well trained before you put the bands on and then its not to bad as they don't get lost as easily.  Good luck.  Ed

We have asked the same question here in the states and in all instances the answer has been NO.  A few years back there were some generic e-bands that I believe worked with the benzeng clocks but the majority of them were failing or so I heard anyway.   Ed

The company Deil Electronics in holland are selling for 2007 the life ring with a chip inside, you can buy the life ring and put the chip in yourself later or buy with the chip fitted. If a chip fails all you have to do is put on a normal chip ring like you do now. These new life rings are called Icomm rings and come with a Phillips chip which currently siuts Mega, Benzing, Bricon and Unicon. All clocks will soon have to be updated to suit the new Phillips ring which will be standard for all clocks in the next couple of years. Each clock company could do this now as in some countries each clock must be able to read each Chip ring currently used. I sell the Mega Clocks in Australia but i also supply Chip Rings to suit Mega, Benzing, Bricon, Unicon, Tauris and Tipes. It appers the prices you are paying are at the top end of the scale as i sell for less than those prices you are quoting.

good piece of information that. With the clip rings now, you put them on yourselves. So what difference would it be inserting the chip into the life ring? as these i asume will be scanned on basketing night the same as the clip rings?

Correct Geraint,

Once inserted CORRECTLY the linking of the chip with the life ring and pigeons details still has to take place. On basket night i assume that over there that each pigeons details regarding the life ring and colour etc is checked against what is displayed on the clock screen.

yes i think that is what happens. i have only ever seen ets in use in germany. This was in real life situation from the fancier basketing in his/her loft through to clock reading on the race night. On the basketing night the birds ets ring is scanned and details checked.
