Tony C Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Never used Royal Jelly Vic, wouldn't know how best to administer it or how much & when. Any tips?
Roland Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Royal jelly is a ‘Bee’ secretion that aids in the development of immature or young bees. It is secreted from the heads of young workers and used (amongst other substances) to feed the young until they develop to the desired rank. If a queen is desired, the hatchling will receive only royal jelly as its food source, in order that she will become sexually mature and have the fully developed ovaries needed to lay more eggs for the hive. Anything to do with Bees, and their waste products even are good… But, careful, use only in moderation. Like their ‘protein’ in moderation, too much and toxin poison is a reality no one wants.
dandydoo Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Good for Humans esp women too rose ;) ;) ;)
Guest Vic Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 I've been using it for a few seasons now, but I have mentioned it, because the dosage that I was given was in droplets, and although the ybs at weaning look the part, I have a feeling that the dosage is somewhat too low for a 5 pt drinker. (6 drops). The OB look well on it too. I remember reading about it a few years ago, and the writer swore by it. So if anyone out there uses it, please let me know if I am underdoing it or what. Cheers Vic
