Just been talking to my club mate Norman Orr and he just found out his loft had been broken in to earlier today and some of his birds were killed and he found them thrown in to a pond beside his loft and the heads had been pulled off them and there were piles of feathers everywhere and there were birds on the floor of his loft as well, he will not be able to find out for sure how many are dead till he comes home from his work the morn when it is daylight, he has no lights or electricity at his loft as they are about 3 miles away from his home so he is just hoping that it is not his best birds, the man is gutted as he has some super birds, tragic if he has lost any of his best, I am sure a lot of the scottish fliers on here will know or have heard about Norman as he has been an excellent flier in the SNFC for years

im afraid this will almost always happen as the birds are an easy target to hurt  the flyer whose cot gets this treatment(if a arguement had broken out between them(not saying thats wot i think has happened here )there are some unsavory gits who just do it for the pleasure of having a laugh after getting drunk/high or just bored ,hope the culprits are caught and severly dealt with.....paul >:(

I'm really sorry to hear about what happened.  We are a small set up and just setting up at our new home, building new loft etc but we would like to offer couple of young birds if that would be any help to get Norman on his feet again.  Lets not let these BLACKCURRENTS ruin his hobbie!!!!  Please let me know..  >:(

this is a great example of what i said in my previous post about fliers pulling together, here you have someone who is just starting their own birds and just joined the forum and offering young birds to a man they have probably not heard about, will pass on your generous offer to him and will get back to you

I'm really sorry to hear this. Many questions and usually few answers.  :(

Was really taken aback last year tho, bumped into a family going home from football outing; had a box of birds with me which interested youngsters amongst them. Picked up that the older child around 8/9 yo was frightened of pigeons. Took one of the birds out to show nothing to be afraid of, two youngest over the moon, but the older one ran into a corner. Got talking and was told of their 'game' thro Edinburgh way: they catch streeters, put them in a paper bag and smash them against a wall. Oh, and this was a girl.  :-/
