Guest Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 We must purchase our ETS rings from the SHU. (ETS Rule 15). Wondered if there's any sign of the combined Union ID & ETS chip rings yet? Might be a bit cheaper than two seperate ones?

Might be a bit cheaper than two seperate ones? i thought this was correct as well bruno , but how are the clubs that are now buying ets systems and they are being given some free rings with every system bought, how can they use these chip rings then ?
ALF Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 i thought this was correct as well bruno , but how are the clubs that are now buying ets systems and they are being given some free rings with every system bought, how can they use these chip rings then ? TRUE I GOT 10 FREE WITH MY SYSTEM

Guest TAMMY_1 Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 ONLY WAY I COULD AFFORD IT :P :P :P HAVE YOU GOT EVERYTHING ALL SET UP NOW ALF ?
Guest Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 Take it that the 10 that come with the system are OK, but further ones must come from SHU. Like yourselves, wondered about this. Don't know if its a security thing, a quality thing, or an income stream for the Union, but it is as well double-checking before you source them elsewhere. And SHU need to sell them at a reasonable price if it's a monopoly supply.
ALF Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 HAVE YOU GOT EVERYTHING ALL SET UP NOW ALF ? NAW MA MATE'S STILL GOT IT AT HIS HOUSE AS I WAS GOING TO THE PUB AFTER WE HAD OUR MEETING AND HE TOOK 2 OR 3 HOME WITH HIM ;D ;D ;D

What is to then stop you Bruno by saying you got 50 with the system and you buy them cheaper elsewhere, how do the SHU actualy know what ring you are using, is there a different reading from certain types of chip rings ? And do they intend to make some type of check on these ?
Guest Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 : : Bruno are the chipped rings a clip shut type or a solid band ?? if solid ok , if clip type and then combined union number on it whats to stop me or anyone slipping it on a yearling and race it as a youngbird ?? andy
Guest Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 HAVE YOU GOT EVERYTHING ALL SET UP NOW ALF ? Alf, which way have you set each pad up? (1) long side across the trap (two entrances for each pad); or (2) short side on to the trap, (one entrance for each pad); We've got our club grant application agreed, but no sign of the kit yet tho, can't really fit it till you get it and then get the birds used to it ... bit tight for OBs with training just 6/7 weeks away.
