Bobthegas Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Stuart, Me and you must have the same job!!!!!! Good thread, ETS for me next year, when all minor problems ironed out. Bob
pigeonpete Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Well it aint voluntary round my way the local clubs WONT allow anyone to use it unless there disabled. well ronnie i will be buying it at the end of the season, and if ive just paid £400 + then i would like to see the rule that stops me!! ;D ;D ;D,
THE FIFER Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 what about all us fanciers with computers etc, we have an advantage, ie. knowing what is going on in the pigeon world, knowing the weather reports on race days, knowing if birds are liberated and when, getting lots of info re sales buying birds, the pc is a modern thing just like the ets, but i dont hear anyone saying we should not have them or its discriminating against those who can't afford them, look at clubs with them its a lot easier for doing results, ptinting etc, so should we all as good fanciers get rid of them because there are lots who cannot afford them or its taking the fun out of not knowing the weather or when birds are up etc, NO sorry its progress in the modern day's, everything is changing, some of us have mobile phones, others still run down to call boxes, should we stop the use of mobile phones in the sport because some dont want to use them, lots of modern things are not all great but its progress and there to make life easier, thats life i'm afraid.
Guest Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 well Tam , i am lucky enough to have access to a computer , i have given weather forecasts to the other members on a friday so we are all aware what to expect , but even with that knowledge , its not made my doos fly any better ....................... ????? andy
speedbird Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 im all for ets i was'nt too keen at the start but like a few other post said it is 2007 not 1907 and was the same issue raised when the stb came out to replace the toilet clock?? as the toilet could either win or loose you a race depending who read it,and the stb read a true reading.also did anyone complain when sputnik traps came out making timeing in quicker than those that choose to catch the bird in the loft and position of loft can be an advantage theses are several points that are quicker did anyone raise thesse issues when they came out, so i think ets is a great way forward and most defo will be geting it
gangster Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 I for one will have ETS, maybe not this year but probaly for next season. My day often consists of up at 5.30am, basket the birds, let out, fed, water and clean out the rest, travel 30 miles down the road and let out my yb team and then hammer to work getting a rollocking for being late. Get home at 5pm, feed the team, some look tired, some look fresh, did they take all day did they have a hrd fly, should they go again tomorrow, well now i can have the answers!!!! Just my Thoughts Stuart i say it again how can you get bollocked when you is the bossman...... :X :X :X :X
Guest slugmonkey Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Late to work is still late to work it don't matter if you are the new guy or the owner it still looks bad
gangster Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 WELL YOU NEVER ANSWERED DID YOU STUART.................
Guest Vic Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 I've heard he's got his work cut out, trying to master Flemish. ;D ;D ;D
Guest shadow Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 What happens if the NFC and MNFC all decide to use different ETS systems are they all compatible or will fanciers have to buy different systems to compete in the various continental and national clubs
Guest Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Not sure that they could, Shadow, much like saying you'll use an STB, or a T3 and nothing else. Still 'same number' of different manufacturers, only difference its an electronic clock; Come to think of it, were the conventional clocks compatible ? Don't think so, even clock roll sizes differed. So starting out by saying everything ETS has got to be compatible really is a big step forward.
Poacher Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Central marking will be a doddle with ETS, why, under the UnivES system that the FCI have adopted and endorse I can see no problems with central marking as this basically means Universal Entry System, in other words you can plug any make of clock in to the ringer and it will allow you to mark your birds and also obtain your race information on checking night, so there will be no problems what ever system you choose.
ticeye Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 went to bricon demo last night well impressed by product ordered speedy full package with free club units plus software for £395 the club units are fully conpatable with all ets systems looking forward to young bird racing with it as i will be able to sit and enjoy every one of my birds diving for the loft
THE FIFER Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 well Tam , i am lucky enough to have access to a computer , i have given weather forecasts to the other members on a friday so we are all aware what to expect , but even with that knowledge , its not made my doos fly any better ....................... ????? andy exactly, and niether will ets.
Poacher Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 re the Bricon work with UnivesBE all the others operate under UnivES, also the Speedy is not approved in Holland and Germany only the Bricon 1000 is approved, Bricon have their own idea of a mast where it wants to control the clubs, this is not a good thing, fanciers should have the freedom
swilcox Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Sorry Big Man Even the Boss has a Boss mate!!!!!! He sites in his ivory tower with one eye on everyone!!! Lucky thing is he went to public school with oe of the masserallas so he knows all about the game. Stuart
gangster Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 nice one an understanding boss helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mickmcgrevy Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 If an individual member wishes to use an ets then it would be up to them to provide whatever is needed to use the system, not for the clubs to provide base station etc.
THE FIFER Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 If an individual member wishes to use an ets then it would be up to them to provide whatever is needed to use the system, not for the clubs to provide base station etc. YIP. and i think if u have so many members using not sure of the nimber unikon supplies the club equipment.
Poacher Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Unikon are saying when 'one member uses Unikon his club will be supported with thier Universal Club System free of charge' so no charge to the clubs. I can remember when the first guy bought a T3 did the club buy the T3 printer or did the fancier, when a new club was formed did the clock company give you a free master and calculator mmmmmmmmm
gangster Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 IF I REMEMBER YOU HAD TOOBUY THE PRINTER FOR T3 YOURSELF.............
ALF Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 race results software now out for ETS YES YOU CAN BUY IT FROM EAST COAST SOFTWARE
