My husbands father kept pigeon when he died my husband and his brother took over. Now my two sons have pigeons ,they fly against there dad and uncle you should hear them when they get together. So i do think pigeon racing runs in families.

yeah sammy but all we saying is. is this a familly thing , no matter if uncle or dad or grandad or what ever its all a hobby a should be injoyed through out how ever or what ever you keep pigeons

i do work you know alex and have for the past 34 plus years up at 5/30 cleaning doos out feeding exercising them afore a went to work at half 7 and then worked to 7 at night came home and do the same thing afore i get ma dinner thats what a call a hobby alex not getting your wife to do it for you but then again there are some sad people about and you must fall into that category

I never said you didn't work and what you state above congratulations for your dedication I have been self employed for 38 years which means nobody pays my wages except myself If I dont work we dont eat no insurance no sick pay ect

As for GETTING my wife to attend to the pigeons when Iam unavailable she really enjoys it Iim very proud of my wife Margaret from banding babies to timing in she can and has done it all

I dont think Iam sad exactly the opposite happy and contented great life try it sometime

my wife is in partnership with me alex and has been for the past 20 odd years she has done it all on many an occasion everything imaginable ,but its my hobby not hers i chose to get up at they hours and do what i am used to doing and as for being self employed DONE it and could still do what i am doing without help but however its your choice alex so enjoy it whatever way you do it ,and good luck for saturday ;D ;D ;D

My Grandfather started it off way back in the early 1900's. Then my dad with my Uncle Jack. Then this was followed on by my two brothers, and then me myself joined in with them around 1983 after getting sick of seeing Sunderland pummelled week in and week out! I still like to go to the Sunderland games now, but only if it doesn't interfere with the birds!

THINK YOU ARE OUT OFF ORDER WITH THIS IF I WAS GETTING UP AT 5/30 TO DO ALL YOU ARE DOING I WOULD BE LOOKING FOR MY BIRDS TO DO A BIT MORE THEN YOU ARE GETTING OUT OF THEM

 

WHATS OUT OF ORDER ,AND HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT AM GETTING OUT OF MA DOOS ,ITS MA HOBBY AND I TREAT IT MA WAY NO ONE ELSES ,MY HOBBY SURRONDS MA WORK NOT THE OPPOSITE AND I HAVE DONE IT FOR MOST OF MY PIGEON LIFE IT WAS HOW I WAS BROUGHT UP WHEN YOU KEEP ANY KIND OF  LIVESTOCK  THEN THEY ARE DEPENDANT ON THEIR KEEPER FOR FOOD AND WATER AND THATS BEFORE THEIR KEEPER HAS BEEN FED NOT THE FIRST AND WONT BE THE LAST TO DO IT MY WAY .

is pigeons with you guys a family hobby or just for you, in my house we all love the birds me my wife and three kids. we all take part in everything to do with the sport. on race day we have a family barbie while waiting for the birds to arive home and we all have the most pleasure in watching our birds arive on the loft we make it a great day for all. do any one else do a simler thing or are we just a mad family lol.

my dad's a pigeon man and my gran's a pigeon woman but it can get a pain in the butt when they are trying to interfere all the time.
