Amtrak were being sent to me today by KEEPSMILINQUEEN to pick up a pair of young birds I was giving her, she sent an e-mail saying she had fixed everything and they would be picked up today, surprise surprise they never turned up. > >

We all know you oppinion Roland, and you may be right the local guys may be overworked and underpaid genuine guys, who's no. but if it's a system error then lets get amtrak to sort it

Have to say Amtrak collected birds from me yesterday and delivered to Jason today, no problems. Maybe it,s because you live in a ROUGH AREA TAMMY ;D ;D

well i phoned for a friday coll/sat del......they quoted £45..i said ok they collected friday missus stayed in all day sat as i had to whip up to broxburn , well they never turned up..delivered monday i told her tell amtrax no way was i paying £45 for that service.........birds were left in the depot all weekend youngsters were starving/thirsty.....drivere said they will blacklist me...tough am i bovvered....no............

Easy solution get them sent to a neighbour if they blacklist you

thanx dovescot i will try the amtrak website, i only got home from uni at 7pm as i had a late lecture that didnt end until 6pm so by the time i checked my e-mails there was nothing i could do, i cant beleive it tho i made sure i gave the right details even got the woman to read it all back to me at the end to double check, i was devistated when they wernt collected esspecially as it took me ages listening to jazzy  hold music to get thru to them in the 1st place !!

 

i will be giving them an earful tommoro over the phone

Tammy, the same happened to me today, 2 birds bought in the auction, all arranged but AMTRAK failed to show. It's not the first time this has happened to me....... they've let me down more times than I care to remember!

Tried giving them grief over the phone, problem is it's easy to blame someone else when they are on the phone. When I lodged a complaint through the quality control link "mark yours as receive read notice" and then you are notified who reads it, then you can deal with them though your email. Found exactly what went wrong and they appologised and promised to fix it or at least try and avoid it happening again. This way we may get a better service or at least the service we pay money for. Not too much to ask for in my books

WHAT A SHAMBLES THIS IS, SHARRON  [KEEPSMILINQUEEN ]PHONED AMTRAK FIRST THING THIS MORNING AND THEY TRIED TO BLAME MY LOCAL DEPOT, WHO IN FACT TOLD ME YESTERDAY THEY HAD NO INSTRUCTIONS FROM ENGLAND TO PICK BIRDS UP , SHARRON SENT ME AN E -MAIL TELLING ME IT WAS ALL SORTED AND AMTRAK WOULD PICK BIRDS UP TODAY, THE DRIVER HERE ALWAYS PICKS BIRDS UP AT NOON, SO AT ONE OCLOCK I PHONED THE DEPOT TO ASK IF BIRDS WERE BEING PICKED UP FROM ME, AFTER A PAUSE THE WOMAN SAID SHE WOULD HAVE TO PHONE OUT TO THE DRIVER BECAUSE HE WAS OUT AND THE CALL HAD JUST ARRIVED FROM ENGLAND BUT THE BIRDS WOULD DEFINATELY BE PICKED UP TODAY, A WHILE AFTER THAT I GOT A CALL FROM THE DEPOT TELLING ME I WOULD NEED TO HAVE THE BIRDS BOXED AS THE DRIVER HAD NONE ON BECAUSE HE WAS NOT INFORMED HE NEEDED ANY, GOOD JOB I KEEP SPARE BOXES, BUT STILL WAITING, AND THEY WONDER WHY THEY GET A BAD NAME

believe it or not , the van has just been and picked them up and he asked me where they were going to as there was nothing on the boxes address wise, i had to use my own boxes and then i had to tell him they were ordered from sharrons end and i wasnae sure where they were going, so i told him to wait and had to come back in to the house check sharrons address and write it on the drivers pad for him and he said he would sort it once he gets to the depot, now the waiting will begin to see if the birds arrive safely at her the morn, birds were well fed and watered this end , no wonder nobody has much faith in them

Not being funny but i have sent out probaly 1000 or more boxs with Amtrak in 18 months and never once a problem!!! As i have said before, get to know your driver and alway get the post code correct!!!!!
