celtic Posted May 12, 2007 Report Posted May 12, 2007 For what it's worth with my inexpierience i believe you should be sending pigeons to races full stop.how else are you going to find out what you've got ? wait till next year and the same thing happen again, you can't keep a loft full of pigeons that have'nt been tested, or maybe you can if you have loads of room and deep pockets. you would'nt scratch a greyhound from a race because it was raining and it was going to get sand in it's face would you ? yu have to find out what you've got , if i lose a few tomorrow 9hopefully not) then they were'nt up to the job, simple as that, we can all send them to the easy races and pat ourselves on the back when they come home but what it that showing us ? let's be honest, without sacrificing them for the sake of it which is out and out cruelty in my opinion a hard race will do them no harm and more than likely stand them in good stead for the next time...maybe i'm wrong but i don't want a loft full of pigeons that will only home when the weather suits them, if they have the urge and will to get back to the loft through a bit of a hard race them they are the ones i'd be wanting to be feeding over the winter.
