Guest Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 some dont keep big teams and its a big jump for some. 278 miles to me 74 mile jump and even alot more for the north section.good luck to all sending
Guest WINGS 04 Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 WE ARE JUMPPING 140 MILES THIS WEEKEND
Jumbo Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Mark i am only sending 5 because with our fed programme we are only at 100 mile and the national is 323 to us if it was not for the Aberdeen Fed letting me put those 5 with them last week to Northallerton 202 mile i would not have any to go.
Mark Bulled Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 I understand - thats a fair jump and to be honest Ive never sent a baby over 300 miles. The longest I ever had on the North was Berwick 290. Longest this year is Geurnsey 196, but half of that is water!!
Guest Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Not sending any, basically the moult is against me, was pretty surprised by amount of feathers they have dropped in just last few days, even the birds home from Saturday's race are a lot different feather-wise from when sent. :-/ Reckon our fed programme was geared toward this race, we had a 70 mile jump in it and last race at 185 miiles at the weekend left a 70 mile jump again into the national. Was looking at 100 mile jump for one hen, but all change last few days. :-/
shotgun tim Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 il prob send 5 to each national see how they come
Henrik Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Gonna send some but will decide on Thurs how many. 150ml jump for them
budgie Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 With the returns we have been getting we are going with 12.Jumping them 140mls is not a problem as long as they are Healty/In fine feather/Coming steady and more importantly good enough. On that subject what % of bad pigeons do fanciers think they keep. Good Luck to all. :)
