klinkley Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 I must be colour blind here because I can't see anything that resembles anything yellow or even close to it in your two birds But anyhow, I was just showing you how dilute alters other colours.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 Well Obviously ;D I have not seen a photo posted on this thread that could be remotely mistaken for something yellow, beats me why if a pigeon is not yellow does somebody say it is ?
chickadee Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 These look like Chocolates to me! I thought Yellow was like a faded mealy! yeah they do look chocolate, maybe i'm colour blind. ;D

Guest MBpigeonguy Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 i think the brown ones are chocolate and the ones that are yellow are yelow, sorr im not following the conversation to much, lol but no matter the colore they will probebly will not beat blue barrs and cheqs, beouse we have a hard enoough time breeding real winners from plain colores, and now breed winners AND colore is pretty dificult to do,
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 yeah they do look chocolate, maybe i'm colour blind. ;D or just blind ;D
Guest Vic Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 I have only ever seen one bird that a normal pigeon man would class as a yellow. We have had this discussion before on Basics, and before long the so called experts will move in and tell us that they don't call a spade a spade, they call it a heart or diamond maybe. That is the impression they left last time. The yellow I seen was a sort of khaki colour, between silver and red. But the experts have their own Views, and as I said, they don't call a spade a spade. Very amusing indeed. ;D Vic.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 THIS WAS THE BEST ONE and it was the only one that resembled a yellow bird
Larry Lucas Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 "Yellow" is a dilute of red, but Jack Barkel in South Africa has bred birds he calls "lemons" that are as close to yellow as I have seen. The ones I saw at a friends loft did not race well, but they were an interesting color aproximating the actual color of yellow.

So in actual fact there is no such thing as a true yellow coloured pigeon ?
