no don't need to go to that expence, there are plenty old dove cotes around the farms etc, and in glens

Agree,they do that in lots of europian cities,far kinder to the birds they just remove the eggs to keep the numbers down and the birds have somewhere to live rather than defacing buildings and annoying people.

Was on a web site and someone had won an award for a rooftop pigeon "shelter" it looked like a palace wish they could reconstruct it round my back garden

never heard anything so rediculous ,, councelors spend other folks money easy , £10,000 for a dovecote, in the hope that the birds nesting under a bridge , making a mess of the pavement , would just leave their bridge and automaticly , flit to their new house,, :-/ :-/ ,,,,,how mad can you get ???  this money could have been better used , in schools , hospitals, libraries etc etc ,, if they have trouble with feral pigeons why dont they ask the experts,,,,the pigeon fanciers , im sure they would have come up with a sensible solution [for a start, wire  netted the underside of the bridge]

 

and if it cost £10,000 for a dovecote , im sure our own dovescote would have obliged for half that price  ;D ;D ;D [plus my commission ;D ;D ;D]

Yes it's a great idea, would lessen the public hate towards all pigeons as well :-/
