I've said elsewhere that stopping bird shows will have no affect on the spread of AI. It's a totally useless and ineffectual strategy and in my opinion a pure public relations gimmick designed to display DEFRA in the best possible light while at the same time moving the spotlight from, and allowing the poultry trade to continue as normal outside the Zones, despite that industry's practices being the chief suspects in the actual spread of the disease.
