Only too true Jim, Everything has shot up by at least 10%, bread, dairy products, it's just one big rip off. If newspapers went up in the past, they would forewarn you. But not these days! They just do what they want. About ten years ago, they put the Times price down to half of the normal dailies, Murdoch doubled the Times circulation, and now it is back up in price, almost DOUBLE the others. You can't win. >:(

Sadly just a case of supply and demand, it is what makes the modern world tick, low yields and high demand. Whether it be grain, oil, wood, housing or fresh air it costs more :(

£10 a bag or JS best all round today :'(

No doubt then he price of wheat will go up again ... for some silly reason like 'Profits aren't as high on this corn we are FORCED to grow'! etc. etc.

I't's called, Legal rip off from those unable to fight back!  Or won't, but in reality often we can't do a jot...

The problem with suppliers from England is they send out on artics or the lager lorries and on pallets, if you do not have a pallet handling device then depending on the courier you have to off load by hand. Plus how close can the courier get to where you are going to store it. How far do you want to lug 40 x 25kg or 50 x 20 kg bags per tonne maybe in the pouring rain :-/

Easiest option is if you stay on a main road and have a smooth driveway with very little or no slope right into an out building, then a you could invest in a pallet truck, also a very flexible time scale to receive deliveries :-/

Trust me I have been there :)

i have just received my price list from my corn merchant feb 2008 and what you have to remember that haulage plays a big part in the prices we have to contend with at the moment i quoted to a friend the price of best allround v/l at 9-00

Yes! They all jump on the bandwagon when it suits them. It really should be a Banned wagon.
