2.87 is for the champ system. 2.86 is for the profi system which most of scotland are using. no problems here so far (touch wood). Could the problems be with the upgrades not carried out correctly or wrong input of data?

No Ian,

I'm the only one.  I think my friend at the end of the day, people are looking for something that catches their pocket and Unikon was as good as any advertised and they sold/sell a good story.  Most people I think avoided the Benzing because of it's price tag.  Strange now how bad reports are emerging with Unikon it seems, after they've sold so many.

Hi Ian,

I went to a Unicon demonstration and the guy doing it, said the Benzing M1 was an excellent clock.  Can't comment on the G2 because I don't know but it is Benzing which should tell us something.

I used the Benzing orange case manual clock for years and NEVER had a problem with it. It has been said, that the Benzing M1 is the Rolls Royce of clocks.  Each to his own ?

We are using UNIKON professional (version 2.85)

do we upgrade to 2.86?

Got letter last week from UNIKON about upgrade but this was for UNIKON CHAMP, it didn't mention anything about upgrade for Unikon professional, but see there is upgrade available for professional to v2.86 on www.pigeon-ets.com. Do we take it or not?

You will need to update to 2.86 for the proffesional clock. If you dont and you go to Nationals and they are using updated version, it will update yours automatically. Not a problem, but when you go back to your club, you MUST update every other members clocks to the same as yours. You can do this by putting your updated clock into members base stations. I,ve tried to download the 2.86 and pulled my hair out in the process, because it would stop downloading just after 14% ish. So as yet i,ve not managed to upgrade yet. Unikon say that upgrades are going to be available as and when they encounter problems, so as to make the system more efficient. Ipersonally would like them to do trials in the close season so as to take uneccessary pressure from secretaries. Can do with out it.

Updated all our club clocks last night and everything went ok.

Things were running well enough up to now so hope this continues.

Hope everybody's updates run as smoothly as our went.

Spoken to the lads from Methilhaven and St Andrews 2nite, who do the ETS for thier clubs, and they say, they are not doing this update, till it,s more clearer, or after the old birds and b4 the young birds starts. ;)

As boomerang mentioned earlier, you wont have any choice. As soon as someone from the clubs gets marked at national race, the 1st time the pocket clock goes into your base station it will update it.

You'd be better updating it now so you wont be caught out at race marking.

Thats right Brian, when we go to Leicester it will cause problems for everyone who hasnt done it. I think Archie was saying Leven was doing it, we have started to do it tonight. If you do it you wont get caught out mate.

If any of you boys in Leven are on Mooks transporter tomorrow i,ll get him to drop of my clock for you to update if you want. I,ve done 5 so far and will procede through the week to do the rest. Its working a treat, thanks to Naedoos. I,m using the result programme at the weekends too and its a great way of seeing the result unfold there and then.
