Guest Vic Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 Let's face it guys. Pigeon Racing really is a mugs game, where most think they can compete , on the same level as their fellow competitors. A race today for instance into Wales recorded velocities at a mile a minute. different terrain can make a big difference also. The easiest must be the area that they call the Golden miles stretch, which runs through the south coast counties from Southampton westwards. Then Northerly on up to the Bristol area, and through to the mighty Midlands, then flat as a pancake through to the NW of England and Scotland, where the birds have to encounter more high and low terrain, when reaching the lower lake district, and endure more highs and lows than any English birds. This is in a normal weather by the way, Obviously in stronger Westerly winds the wise ones in the east will pick the fruit. As Stan Biss did on many many occasions.
