swilcox Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 He is talking utter rubish Ben, sometimes if you lend people an ear they go to town. Re-build and look to the future, pigeon racing in cornwall has struugle in the last few years more than most areas, but with some of these great NFC performances i think it will come back strong. Guest peter.j Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 in the words of chumba wumba"I GET KNOCKED DOWN BUT I GET UP AGAIN....YOUR NEVER GOING TO KEEP ME DOWN" chin up and how does he know it was your birds that done it ,try the diplomatic approach tell him youve been meaning to see him about the moss in his gutters blocking your drains and if he insists on going the council you will get workmen in to clear your drains and you will sue him for the costs

Guest shadow Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 ben if the birds are not flying keep them off the roof in the loft don't let them sit out
Guest peter.j Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 ben is still at school and is not in a position to go round and make ultimatems to neighbours well if this is the case and as this gentleman as basically given ben an ultimatum/threat of involving the council why dont his parents go and see the gentleman involved and act as mediators in this situation if one of my kids took up a hobby which kept them from hanging around in parks drinking and doing what weve all been reading about beating people to death stabbing and terrorising people ,i for one would back them to the hilt against all comers jmho.....pete

cemetary Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 Is that all he has to coplain about, a couple of bits of moss, as clocky says, the wild birds knock the moss of the roof, get your parents to have a word with the neighbours. Dont give because of this Ben.

Stuart 100% right. Smile sweet as a dove ... deadly as a snake. Infact say to him that they are doing him a favour as the moss isn't doing him any good there at all... And in reality you might have yto charge him for the removal of it! ;D
Guest Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 have you approached the council about keeping pigeons if you have not and other fanciers are in your area had to and there was no problem i would let the council know but check with the other flyers first ,then your neighbour can continue moaning but nothing can be done but if the council are against keeping pigeons make sure the neighbour does not find out and try and keep the peace ATB les
collins and stevens Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 You will not win if they have a genuine dislike for pigeons...if its not the moss it will be something else.I had the same problem and in the end the council came round ,they were really pleased to see how clean and well managed the birds were and reassured me not to worry. The neighbour had no angle for complaint as the animmals were clean, quiet and well managed tow this line and if the council turn up stand your corner.

Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 my mum is trying to sort it out and i was trying to leave them out longer in the day as i had my best year wen i was in the garden by doing thta
cemetary Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 Keep your chin up Ben, your maw will fix it oot. We need to keep as much people in the sport as we can.
Guest spin cycle Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 as clockman says it's more likely wild birds disturbing the moss while collecting for nests. the trouble is that if they're 'frail' they are likely to be looking for something to worry about...and even if your pigeons go they'll just find something else. try telling them that you're considering giving up pigeons to start a teen rock band...(ok) seriously though your mum is your best bet (tact & diplomacy) good luck(shy)
DJ Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 sorry to hear about your problems ben as said on here its probably wild birds that are knocking moss off the roof (or most of it)and they cant stop them landing on the roof just try and stay friendly with your neighbours even if you dont want to as it could stop the council getting involved good luck debbie
jakjak Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 Cut the corn back Ben.......and keep em off the roof. In the shed....or in the sky mate
Lennut Tar Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 my mum is trying to sort it out and i was trying to leave them out longer in the day as i had my best year wen i was in the garden by doing thta "Trust me" ;D ;D ;D Mum's your best bet ;) young Ben, to sort your problem out with your neighbours. Many of us ?????? I'm sure here, would like to do things in a different way, but are held back by neighbours etc or other issues. In regards to what we can do at times with our birds unfortunately. You just have too, sadly work within the limits that are acceptable to all parties involved at the time. Even if it is a grumpy neighbour next door etc :'( :'( :'(. Education could be the way with next door :P into our sport in general, & also tell him about your involvement in collecting rings & show him your ring collection. Just as an example !!!!!!!! of what someone like yourself gets enjoyment out off & it shows him, you are not out roaming the streets beating up old ladies ;D ;D ;D etc like some. I know it can be tough going at times for someone like yourself, but if you do the right thing & do your best, at the end of the day everything should work out ok. PS, If all else fails :) I reckon that rock band ;) could be the go, & to me. That ????? should fix the pr*ck up. Enjoy.

Guest chrisss Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 i agree with all of the above posts, does he do a lot of gardening [and do you do a lot of loft cleaning?] the bit in the middle ie dung can come in very useful for a gardener, and if they are old an offer of help might come in handy as well.some might call it "creeping" i call it hearts and minds
