frank-123 Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 just told a story tonight a bird from the national race from newbury returned late with the rubber over the ets ring on crossing the pad it never registered so said fancier lifted the bird onto the pad to see if it would register nothing until he took the rubber off the ets ring worked ok after that so beware it could cost you i would ask to put it on the metal ring just to be safe
frank-123 Posted June 24, 2008 Author Report Posted June 24, 2008 as back up rose in the snfc race's you can set two clocks one being ets the other 2nd clock as back up
DOVEScot Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 just told a story tonight a bird from the national race from newbury returned late with the rubber over the ets ring on crossing the pad it never registered so said fancier lifted the bird onto the pad to see if it would register nothing until he took the rubber off the ets ring worked ok after that so beware it could cost you i would ask to put it on the metal ring just to be safe I thought they were meant to read through 3/4 ply :-/
frank-123 Posted June 24, 2008 Author Report Posted June 24, 2008 Well that sounds pretty sensible can you time in on ets then put rubber in clock just in case anything goes wrong yes rose just like a double rubber except one is ets chip ring
frank-123 Posted June 24, 2008 Author Report Posted June 24, 2008 I thought they were meant to read through 3/4 ply :-/ mine read through 3/4 ply when clocking just incase it happens to anybody in the big race's i thought i might warn them not tried it myself
Guest spin cycle Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 I thought they were meant to read through 3/4 ply :-/ obviously nothing gets through a good 'rubber' and thats why condoms arn't made of 3/4 ply(bunny)
gangster Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 obviously nothing gets through a good 'rubber' and thats why condoms arn't made of 3/4 ply(bunny) always get 1 lol
Chris Little Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 Cheers for the info Bart, however, I was led to believe the rubber was always placed over the metal ring
DOVEScot Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 mine read through 3/4 ply when clocking just incase it happens to anybody in the big race's i thought i might warn them not tried it myself Maybe 3/4 ply is the limit they can read through, so you are reducing the signal too much by adding the rubber over the ring, maybe a good idea to make boards ony 1/2 inch thick to stop this happening, I just fitted my sputnicks today so thanks for the warning
frank-123 Posted June 24, 2008 Author Report Posted June 24, 2008 bird i got back from eastbourne had it on the ets ring chris it did work ok for me just if sending to the nationals i would make sure it is on the metal ring
DOVEScot Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 obviously nothing gets through a good 'rubber' and thats why condoms arn't made of 3/4 ply(bunny) I have never seen ribbed extra sensitive 3/4 ply although I know a bit 2x2 tenderises the best ;D ;D ;D

sapper756 Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 they were put on the metal ring at aberdeen :) Yes that,s how it should and is done up here in Fife,
Ian McKay Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 This is not the case I read this last year and have done tests with three rubbers on an ETS ring and it works. Dovescot is right it reads through 15ml ply. Seems like a good excuse to me
harky Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 I WOULD BE GRATEFUL IF ANYONE COULD GIVE ME DOUGIE BALD'S CONTACT NUMBER .THANKS
alex wight Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 Dougie Balds No 01314493100, ets rings can read through more than 3/4in ply. As a test guys try different heights, try a ring to the edges, try covering the pads with different materials, as for not reading through a rubber, well i cant get my head aroung that one. The rubbers neednt be placed on any ring, they should be below the ets/metal ring for ease of getting off. As Sapper said in fife we put them on the metal ring leg.
THE FIFER Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 as i have said before you can get missed connections if ur pad is too close to ur base station,
