retired Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 Just curious as to which magazines the forum members take each week?
OLDYELLOW Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 Non :-) , aint picked one up fer ages , well since the ets debate was in every dam article. However i must say the bhw was my fav of the 2 .
celtic Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 Both, but look forward to Rod Adams articles in the RP
GREENGRASS Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 get both but had problems getting them into the local newsagent so now get the RP online and it is sent via email every thursday morning all your copies are stored for you and no magazines cluttering up the house. get the bhw sent to the house now and it also arrives every thursday morning. have a look at the rp online it is really well presented and very professionally done.
Roland Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 Perfer the R.P. personally. Just started having them again... strangely enough simply because every so often a topic on here mentioned one or the other, or both. To be frank, I feel that the R.P. is more pigeon conscious and the BHW. more Advertiment and 'Name' endorsing. Yes of course 'Writers' have friends etc. but many, too many seem to think it is just a vessel to promote others, and themselves. Thankfully there are time to time some good articles written... most reposted 'Past' articles granted, but still of an interest I feel.
Simeon Turner Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 Both for me, BHW for the adverts. RP for the write ups (and I am not just saying that as I am a scribe) - I mean the loft reports etc.

RP for the write ups (and I am not just saying that as I am a scribe) - I mean the loft reports etc. Was reading your article in Squills again tonight - Dave Allen 2008 - Very good article I tend to agree about the comments - With the BHW i start on the letters page, then work from the back page. With the RP i tend to read as a normal person would
Fair Play Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 Chris, who told you pigeon fanciers were normal I always thought they were a breed apart. BHW for me used to get 5 but like all things finances dictate and hate the politics.
Simeon Turner Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 Was reading your article in Squills again tonight - Dave Allen 2008 - Very good article Thanks Vallance, enjoyed doing the write up - Dave has an excellent knowledge of pigeons and pigeon racing in my opinion.

Ronnie Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 Never had rhe RP but i find the BHW is full of people writing about themselves and promoting there own pigeons instead of doing write up's and results. Also i notice a lot of results dont seem to get published until a certain fancier is in the cards or that just me being cynical? I do like the adverts in the back and allways go there first though lol.
