Guest TAMMY_1 Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 Ithink a lot of the members responding have been touched by cancer at some point or other, me personally my father died of cancer a few years back and it is not a nice sight seeing somebody succumb to this terrible illness, sometimes it makes you really angry when cancer charities recieve no govenrment funding , as do a lot of good charities who get no money from the government, and you see billions being sent abroad to help others and now billions are being spent on a useless subject like the olympic games, billions squandered on the dome in London [ no you alf ] all the money should be spend where it is needed, caring for folk at home

Guest Posted March 30, 2007 Report Posted March 30, 2007 Cancer, Stroke and Heart Disease are still the biggest 'health' killers in Scotland. My mum was unfortunate enough to suffer all three + diabetes + alzheimers. She died a pretty horrific death in Law Hospital in 1982 after suffering years of debilitating illness in mind & body. Bad enough for her, but devastating for the family to watch. Willing to sponsor George & family in this charity venture, and deeply sorry for your loss, such a young person.
maverick Posted March 30, 2007 Author Report Posted March 30, 2007 It is the walk for life the girls are doing now as this is for all types of cancer not just one it is at camperdown park on the 20th MAY AS THEY ARE GETTING A LOT OF DONATIONS FROM PEOPLE THEY THOUGHT IT WAS THE BEST ONE TO DO
