cemetary Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 When you deliver to Scotland, would you deliver to Fife area . Can you let me no, as i am trying to arrange for pick up to deliver too me.
ChrisMaidment08 Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 over half hour ago i asked a questio still no answer
THE FIFER Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 hi. with amtrak gone you now have a few of us courier companies who have got licences ready to help provide a national delivery service, j coopers are a decent company who take pride in their work, i now coz i have worked for them in the past. between us we can do a decent job. give us a try . do you supply boxes.
cemetary Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 Hes maybe away to pick up a delivery for tommorrow. Still no reply from AM :-/ :-/
DOVEScot Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 do you supply boxes. Typical Fifer ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Guest chrisss Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 Typical Fifer ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D maybe [thats very scots ;D ;D ;D] but its a good point,do any of them?
ChrisMaidment08 Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 if you cant get answers on here from them it leaves a lot to be desired
Roland Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 like Amdeliveries approach personally. Will certainly give them my custom if and when the need arises. Like Carlsberg I too tend to travel and may a Sight Visit' when appropiate, but of course that is not always pliable or possible.
billy wilson Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 the reason am deliveries may not be answering questions is i was on the phone last night and mike said the phone has never stopped ringing all day it has caught him on the hop as some of his drivers are on holliday, ive to ring on monday as ive two birds to be picked up in kent, happy days billy :K) :K) :K) :K) 8)
Guest Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Typical Fifer ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D aye,anything for nothing...(evil)
Fife_pigeon_wife Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 another reason am might not be replying. maybe he doesnt sit in front of a computer all day to answer questions. maybe his comp has crashed. give the guy a chance to answer before slagging them off.
Fife_pigeon_wife Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 i would just like to add, that we have NEVER had any trouble with amtrak, they even donated boxes for a sale our club had a few years back. everytime i phoned them i couldnt find them more helpful.
Guest chrisss Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 now that amtrak have bitten the dust, i would respectfully sugest that we give the other firms ,who are trying to pick up the unexpected slack a bit of time to get set up,no one saw this one coming, and it will take time to sort out who can do what and where
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 i would just like to add, that we have NEVER had any trouble with amtrak, they even donated boxes for a sale our club had a few years back. everytime i phoned them i couldnt find them more helpful. Very true.
tomm1e Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 As a matter of interest does anyone yet know what alternative arrangements louella are making to transport pigeons? Has anybody bought pigeons, or is planning to buy pigeons, from them this week? For a company setting up an alternative service it would be useful to get a figures from amtrak about the volume of pigeons transported. Then it would be possible to see if an alternative is actually viable.

Roland Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Now that amtrak have bitten the dust, I would respectfully sugest that we give the other firms ,who are trying to pick up the unexpected slack, a bit of time to get set up. No one saw this one coming, and it will take time to sort out who can do what and where. Of course very true... and, especially the moaning brigade, may I suggest a little banter and even a cuppa in relating that they are your pride and joy, and live stock. If not you, then the one putting your birds into their care eh. Not 'I suppose they won't get there today ... never bloody have done yet..., still I hope to see a miracle before I die, hope this is it. Struth don't know how your firm operates, let alone makes a profit... well the costs of send any bloody is dear granted, does any one out side of stupid me still use you. Had a mate lost three bleeding birds last month... You know what a pigeonis eh! Oi dorn't let the other bloody boxes fall all over them this time... A little chat about the weather and his job being a pain in the *expletive removed*, tight schudle etc. and a thank you works wonders, and doesn't peeve an already stressed drive even more.
pjc Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Whoever they do decide to use they will want to drive the price down to a minimum. Any courier qouting for there business should not allow themselves to be beaten down as I beleive Amtrak were. Louella need a courier more than a courier needs Louella! Phil
Roundo Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Just heard a wee whisper this morning that the SHU may have found an alternative transport company that deliver all over the UK. This will certainly help us Scottish fanciers if it's true. Hopefully we'll hear something very soon. Colin.
rembrant2coo Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 http://www.spds.co.uk/ I sincerely hope your right clocky me boy , this looks a good alternative to amtrak i know they used to deliver and pick up birds but they don,t say much on there website regarding pigeons wonder if we could confirm with them regarding this especially for going down to england or wales , ie (nothing on about livestock)
GREENGRASS Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 INCORRECT SPDS ONLY COVERING SCOTLAND......................
Roundo Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 http://www.spds.co.uk/ At the moment they will continue to carry pigeons in and around Scotland. Unfortunately nothing down South. Colin.
