Jakies distance is approx. 352 - 353 miles, vel should be around 1378.

I do not know Jakies exact distance, but have guessed at roughly 352 miles 1000 yards. Flying time 7.5 hours giving him vel. of 1378. Walter Masson of Inverallochy flies 352 miles 423 yards and stays not far from Jakie, so I won't be far out.

If the Mclean pigeon is in at bang on 4.49pm and his distance is bang on 229 miles his vel. would be 1556. so does look like he could have the winner as the hay pigeon at 17.46 over 259 miles is doing 1442

My mistake misread 229 miles instead of 220.

I have a good pair of glasses but seldom wear them.

The ones I use most often, I got from fellow pigeon club member Charlie Rae,they were £2 from a shop in Blackpool. ;D ;D ;D
