PATTY BHOY Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 went to visit farmer to locate pigeon loft on his land,he wanted £10 a week do the members think this is fair.Could aso locate on club allotment but this is 3 miles from my house £60 a year. your views please.
Guest j.bamling Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 £10 a week might not be such a bad thing if its nearer to your house etc & a better location
gangster Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 id rather fly on the farmers land as id rather be away from the other lofts....
lithgilad Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 pest control on farm will be difficult
mac1 Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 cant get nowt for a tenner these days, your birds will be safer mate
PATTY BHOY Posted January 8, 2009 Author Report Posted January 8, 2009 should`ve said, farmer doesn`t have livestock.the farm is split into small working sheds, wouldn`t be much peace and quiet.
Guest joshdonlan Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 try him for £5 a week, they would usually be grateful for any extra income, or try to pay him per year and get it cheaper that way. I think that £10 is a little expensive, but i would choose anyday over allotment.
Guest bigda Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 has he got farm cats they might make it hard for racing, when birds come home and they see the cats at farm house or buildings, and they might crawl around your shed at night :-/
PATTY BHOY Posted January 8, 2009 Author Report Posted January 8, 2009 never seen cats when visited but did see jack russell dogs.

greenlands Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 My opinion mate, a bloody rip off £520 a year, but if theres nowt else what can you do.£520 to him no tax etc thats worth another £208. not bad going is it.
Roland Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 Go for the one furthest in the East! £440 little quiddies is nowt to other costs, and most 'Name' flyers have moved house for such....

Guest Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 patty having flowan in bo,ness for over 12 years i would say go for the harbour rd site for three reasons first cost 2nd the plots in bo,ness dont get much bother well they didnt in the 12 years i was president 3rd and most important its very hard to win in that club flying into the town without trying from lithgy harbour is better pos. and just a wee bonus the fanciers at the plots are sound which can come in handy at hols. time etc
Guest Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 i forgot to mention make sure harbour road has room for you first as it only has room for 7 lofts and i thought they had that no there now i dont know if you still have to go through the club for permision
