walterbmasson Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 i suppose the inland races will always stay about the same as most of fanciers are into the widowhood and going for 300mils as you should know being on the clock commitee for SNFC when yousee the amount thats going to the YBNATIONAL 360miles how many would you send if the yearlings but different story from france with loosing the
alec guinness Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 not sure if you can put 1997 against 2008, one more inland national in 08, gold cup 1997 up against 08,last channel race 08 up on last channel race 97. ps 1997 was the worst post war gold cup race with only 21 birds in race time which must have effected the last channel race.!!!!

Thanks for the input Alex I went on 12yrs just for my own interest I know there are loads of different issues but the main part of the exercise was to find out how the birdage in Scotland was going. If I picked certain years I could ajust the outcome so all results in this period were used One thing for sure birdage for 2005 / 2006 shows there was something far wrong. But hey it was an exercise I had to do being on the committee I am fully aware of the problems I only wanted to see if this was a problem Ian
walterbmasson Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 isuppose the inland races will always stay about the same as most of fanciers are into the widowhood and going for 300miles as you should know being on the clock commitee for snfc when you see the amount that goes to the y b national 360 mls how many would go if the old birds were flying 360mls from eastborne so i would say even stephen but different story from french racing i would say a big drop in the long races after loosing the snrfc because they must be sending 1000 birds plus so ian definately a big drop in the longest races which iam sorry both clubs cant afford :-/
Guest Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 birdage is in your rule book ian, not for 2008 as we havent got our 2008 results yet they will be in the 2009 book

me Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 Hi Iam I missing something here 2008 birdage is on the balance sheet 13011 birds exc Ypres208 Cheers Homer 49 The only figure that should matter for a club that claims to be all about LONG DISTANCE RACING, should be the figures for the races from "o'er the water" Homer. Who knows what the thread is aiming at its not exactly clear, but I have a feeling we will find out shortly!
Guest IB Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 Remember the channel programme was badly affected by bird flu restrictions 2 years hard running, with at least one planned race cancelled at short notice, so maybe 2006 & 2007 figures should be omitted.

This is an excercise not put up for arguments Ian Hi Me What part of the above post do you NOT understand It is a simple question do people think the birdage over a 12yr period is up or down As simple as that As to your remarks about long distance racing the members vote at the AGM where we go and it appears you do not agree with the membership I clearly stated this was NOT put up for an argument it was an exercise I did for myself Do not participate if you do not understand it Ian
