REDCHEQHEN Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 You seem to be on a mission Dave (evil) But this one - finally topping the combine from Bourges at the age of 7 - gets my vote How many people have 7 year old racers in their loft?
andy Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Geordie Girl After Auld Reeekie/Fortune Lady this one gets my vote....
Guest Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Lie i said Susan, he was one of my all time favourites. I love top class pigeons, every one posted is exactly that, top class. More so, they all flew into the North East. Whilst i can not, and would not dispute the claims of the Legend being the best, THE UK's first ever Intenational winner, only a fool would go against that! I would love to know, to have witnessed, what would the UNC and Scottish pigeons posted on this thread, and many many more that aren't, would and could have acheived had they been in a more suitable area to compete in the International races aswell. Certainly food for thought.

Delboy Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 Dicky Darky, what would you say has been the very best UNC Bourges winner, taking into consideration, wind, distance and loft location ?
kelly tom Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 I handled him in 1987 at Foutainhead and i think he was 11 at the time although i am not 100% certain i do know that a young bird off him was £500 then.
kelly tom Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 I bought a son from Dokus and a son from Hard Luck and 2 Grand Daughters of De 16 at the time but i sold them later on to Willie Tallis from Blantyre in Scotland so i dont have the pedigrees.

Guest Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 Dicky Darky, what would you say has been the very best UNC Bourges winner, taking into consideration, wind, distance and loft location ? Ooooohhh, thats a pearler of a question Delboy! To be honest, i couldn't say. There's been some great ones. Two of my favourites are Wearside Lass and Margarets Pride, multi performers before winning the big one. I'm sure there was a UNC winner up on Holy Island but will have to go through me books to get the racepoint! Helluva question though Del, that probably was worth a thread of its own! I'll get back to you.
