naedoos Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 MY MAIN CONCERN IS THAT WHO IS TO CARRYOUT THE TASKS OF INSPECTING ALL OF THE ETS PADS AS TO WHERE THEY ARE INSTALLED ETC AND WILL THERE BE ANY RANDOM SPOT CHECKS DONE DURING SEASON TO ENSURE PADS ARE STILL IN CORRECT PLACE MY FED HAS STATED THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED IN ANY CHECKS Club officials and can be checked anytime
me Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 I suppose you would avocate having one clock at the post office again and recruiting 5 of your local school best runners to run your rubber up to the post office , however these young lads today would want more than a bob and the best runners would go to the fancier who paid the most , i suppose the guy at the top of the hill next to the post office will win out of turn as your runners will be impeaded by the steep hill No one is suggesting a mod is not allowed to have an opinion but personally I would prefer it if you would refrain from complete invention and putting "false" words in another forum members "mouth". The quote above is a complete embarrassement to anyone with a modicum of pride why not do the decent thing and delete it.
frank-123 Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 nothing wrong with your post oldyellow i fully agree with it some people would like to remain in the dark ages
Guest Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 Personally i have nothing against ets, what i have a problem with are fanciers timing to many pigeons.if you take the first 6 places fair enough, otherwise there should be a limit of 3 birds timed.
dazza Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 Me - you are correct it was a silly irrelevant post.

Guest Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 its ok to take the first 6 places but there should be a three bird limit ;D ;D ;D Yes as there is say 6 tickets to be won,but when you have a fancier thats first bird in 20th place and then they time another 10 it makes the result look stupid.

There was no need to explain Vincent everyone apart from Bart understood the point you were making.

frank-123 Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 how many birds can you have on your result we take the first eight then the first pigeon from anybody else who times so if i turn up with my ets with four in the clock and i am miles behind only my first bird will count unless i request a pooler to be added to the result before the result sheet is marked up

frank-123 Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 if your pooler arrives in 456th place you don't deserve any pool money
Guest spin cycle Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 perhaps they are also living in a time when their elected officials took note of their views, when an 80 % vote meant something, when lawyers didn't run things behind closed doors and elected officials were frightened to publish legal advice they'd asked for.when individual words were not inserted or deleted from the rules to try and manipulate club officers. the way ets was introduced was wrong and because of this its going to take a long time for many to accept. modernising it may be but the means of its introduction certainly wasn't.
weecunny Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 4 th 5 th 6th lol but it could be the only pooler hame lol
pigeonscout Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 Why would anyone want to be credited with 4th prize if their bird was 12 th. If a fancier has 11 birds in before me I could convince myself that I was 4th even if the club result showed that I was. Everyone talks about giving the new start a chance, it is the new starts I fear the most. They are the ones full of enthusiasm willing to learn and work hard and if they befriend a top flyer to give them the right advice you better watch out. My first year racing starting with young birds I won 12 out of 12 races I did not need years of experience to win. I took the advice of a top flyer R Hogg and to this day I still follow that advice.
pigeonscout Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 i dont think that anybody would grudge a fancier who has a disablement an ets but some of the posts are right, some fanciers abuse it by clocking in everything that comes over the pad I for one do not care if they clock 50 birds because if im not 1st then I have lost. 2nd 3rd 4th prizes do noting for me I am out to win. That may sound bad but it is how I feel about racing pigeons 1st and only 1st.

hotrod Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 if your pooler arrives in 456th place you don't deserve any pool money totally wrong mate if your 1st or 1,000th your entitled to win pool money with any bird that competes and is pooled
tskyes Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 STARTED WITH ETS NOW ITS ABOUT POOL MONEY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
