to get back on thread i use a name and addy ring [not that any get reported of course] if you are not a fancier you do not know to look at the wing,but most "civvies" will see the ring

Home number.  I ordered a red stamp but wish I had black - red shows awful through the white feathers.  :-/ :-/

 

In three years I have only lost three birds and had only one reported (broken keel) and that was by a non-fancier...this bird was stamped but also had my phone number on ring.

 

Before having pigeons I didn't know to look on the wing for a number and, even if I did, I doubt I could have opened a wing.  :B
