Guest bigda Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 that's good to know vincy, maybe that will get our own , committee on the the case as we are miles behind the rest of the feds, when it comes to stuff like that, keep up the post guys, any one else getting lottery grants for transporters, as this could help us all in the future, the more we know the better for us all
ALF Posted March 29, 2009 Author Report Posted March 29, 2009 has any club, had money from the lottery, or fed, for transporters, and what is the ruling on it, if any in Scotland, and whats the latest from the transport committee in the lanarkshire, any thing to report ;D I think you should talk to our fed president as he told us all that he had a friend who worked for the lottery and we would be entitled to a grant of up to £100,000 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
hotrod Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 bigda we in the glasgow fed got a grant towards getting a new transporter(i think), and all clubs that got a grant got geraldy paniers instead of splashing money on elecronic timing like most other clubs/feds did we, thought of our birds first, ourselves second .

hotrod Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 there was me, all along thinking it was g geddis transporter, hot rod you never said this before good news mate gordon geddes has his own transporter as well mate.
hotrod Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 gordon has just bought it last year so no i dont think so.
Guest bigda Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 how Manny birds dose your transporter hold we think about our birds but the biggest problem we have is the amount of birds that we race against ie 7-10,000 and what type of transporter will suit for any driver 7.5 ton or we employ our own drivers 2 off for the year :-/ H G V all mounts up that's the dilemma we face
hotrod Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 that is a problem mate you will need two big transporters to transport 7-10'000 birds, i think ours holds about 1000 birds each , there or there abouts depending on how many you put in each panier. We are in with south lanarkshire fed as well and they have a 2000 bird transporter, and there is a trailer belonging to forthbridges club that can take 600/800 birds so we can cover around 4,800 birds at any one time . and as the distance goes out then we go in whatever transporter will suffice.
Guest bigda Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 how Manny birds in a geraldy pannier that is legal
hotrod Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 how Manny birds in a geraldy pannier that is legal some put in 28/30 but we put in 25 cocks and 26 hens, and 22 each for oversea's races.
Guest bigda Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 well the way it looks for us then is 5 x 7.5 ton trucks any drivers, what do you think that will set us back can we get funding from europe, as we seem to be in it at times :-/

Its been resubmitted How are YOU getting along with the Fed sale you and bigda are running Cheers Homer 49 I have said i would'nt mind helping to get donations Homer and i've actually been offered a few already if the fed goes ahead with it...
Guest bigda Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 i dont mind helping out the fed homer49, but really i would like to see the the whole fed levied £250 that way no one gets a free ride, and if it was brought in, transport would not be a problem ;D ;D
Guest bigda Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 this is the daddy how much for one of these http://www.btinternet.com/~meridklt/tbransporters.htm looks like we need three of these :o
hotrod Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 i dont mind helping out the fed homer49, but really i would like to see the the whole fed levied £250 that way no one gets a free ride, and if it was brought in, transport would not be a problem ;D ;D what have you got 400 members so 400 x £250= 100,000 that what those transporters would cost EACH mate so you would need to levy each member £750 to get 3 of them
HOMER49 Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 The Clydesdale midweek club got a lottery grant last year for a geraldy trailer.I am not sure of the exact amount received though. Hi A small trailer for behind a car 600 birds The secretary Mr Robertson is a member on here so he will tell you the cost Cheers Homer 49
Guest bigda Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 pay more for golf mate, and salmon fishing, but thats just to get them to get the finger out £250 not that they will go to the poor house £ 5 a week thats all
hotrod Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 pay more for golf mate, and salmon fishing, but thats just to get them to get the finger out £250 not that they will go to the poor house £ 5 a week thats all maybe you should start your own golf club for sprinter golfers and just play the front nine and get everyone that plays the back nine to pay more and extra for par 5's as you want at 500 mile races in pigeons lol
thedoo Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 AWARDS FOR ALL GRANT WAS £50 SHORT OF £9000 AND MONEY WELL SPENT
