I see any thread is a knocking match now. Pathectic!!!

yes pathetic, and i am tired of it, but until the guy who is starting all this is dealt with nothing will change. maybe we should all use other forums as the party involved is ruining this one. and it is a good forum . easy to use. :)

Hi Mate, having been lucky enough over the years to have one or two  in my opinion good distance birds and being able to look at their wings first hand,I like them like swallows. They seem to have a lot of gain after each flight and give the impression of being long, thin flighted.Just my observations.Lindsay

do you place any value on the end 4 flights being thiner or the 10th flight shorter than the 9th?

what about back wing and secondarys shorter than primarys.. ?

I am not sure on the wing theory. Can anyoune who has judged at shows or that come and say what they look for in the wing. I just like balance in my pigeon

Firstly, they must have two lol. Seriously, I like a good step up from secondarys to primarys and the last 3 - 4 flights of similar length. There should be a decent space between flights and I would prefer a long back wing. The secondarys should cover rump of bird when wing is opened, so as to protect kidneys when in long flight. ;) Equally important to the wings ,is the tail.

yes brian balance  is very important in distance pigeons .i like a good length of wing , a good gap between the last 3/4 flights the step up from secondary's to primaries is not very important ,i find that the older the bird becomes the bigger the step is ,the same goes for the feathers under the wing (the ones nearest the body) a lot of top men say that these should be square but again this comes with age. ;) imo  ;) but none of these theories count for anything if the bird isnt  fit/healthy.

i also look for a step from sec to prim, i think it helps but have seen good birds without this, although its what i like to see. I do like one feather width tails and soft feathering on wings as well as the rest of the bird.  :)

winners always have a good wing, good eyesign, two of each, balance, good feathering etc etc but how many can judge these charictoristics before a bird becomes a winner?
