budgie Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 Dont make excuses for the Shi-te.I no only to well that mistakes can be made but dont get involved in making excuses for inferior pigeons. For the ones that did not make it look at the Parents and also the youngsters of them as they are also suspect and may be placed on the hit list for Bin Bag the Sailor.

cowman Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 sent my entire team of yearlings to lessey (3) of them had my nom pigeon back around midday today still waiting on a cock and hen .

Guest bigda Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 Mr McElroy The only pigeons we dropped yesterday were yearlings. They were untried but the 11 that were at last years Young Bird National are all home.I dont know the answer but if they are not tested you will be left with a dookit full of Sh-te. i was not refering to yesterday, alone but as the season as a whole :-/
budgie Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 i was not refering to yesterday, alone but as the season as a whole :-/ What season have we had up to date.6 Races gone by and the longest time the winners have had on the wing is 3.42 mins and with the First National next week Lanarkshire are in for a Shock.
jonl6280 Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 11 to come from Newark and they can stay away.If the first of the convoy into our club are doing it in 3.42 mins no excuse for the Sh-te not to turn up.Our biggest problem here in Lanarkshire is up until recenlty they have been getting the skys clear to themselves and when they are rumbelled up as yesterday they just cant think for themselves.Thats 6 races over their heads ond the longest the winners have been on the wing is 3.42mins.Watch next week when we go with the SNFC to Newbury with no time on the wing under their belts. On a positive side our feeding bill will reduce. :( I TOTALLY AGREE IF THEY CANT MAKE IT HOME IN A DAY THEN THEY AINT WORTH HAVING!!
Guest bigda Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 i know that but there where better birds last year, lost this year, take last week the old birds where the ones that took the hit this week it was the yearlings dont ask me why maybe something to do with heat , cold old go down, hot young go down , i losed 4 yearlings that went to every race last year,6 races plus 3 tosses per week, not back might be crap thinking the birds came up through Dumfries and that is one of the most densely populated areas in Britain for the bop , i took birds down there before ,and seen them get attacked they killed 11 birds that day out of 47 4 of them 10 yards from the car we where in, and that was just as you go into dumfries town first turning on the right, stay clear from there
alec guinness Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 I TOTALLY AGREE IF THEY CANT MAKE IT HOME IN A DAY THEN THEY AINT WORTH HAVING!! you must have some team of doos sir.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest bigda Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 the part that annoys me about pigeon racing,is when i here the smart guy say, and he says it lots of times, is the bird is only as good as its last race, and most of these characters have been in the doo game an age, and have had the luck to go with these words, knowing fine well they are in a better position than most having the stock birds to reproduce the goods at will, for the bloke that hasent had the rub of the green for a few years ends up listening to the successful flyer and dose the stupid thing puts his winning bird back into the races, before he has breed any thing from it, with the result being, they have pushed the parent bird on, and then its lost or killed, leaving the lad with a winning bird but cant reproduce it, and again starting all over again, every year, and never getting any further forward, winning birds general produce wining birds, and there is nothing wrong in that when you have 30 birds from the wining family to say its only as good as it last race knowing that the prodigy it is producing, will get your name on a few goods trophies each year
schouwman71 Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 Hi ALL i must say they were some very top pigeons missing yesterday and also still missing today, yes multi 1st prize winners that have won over the channel year in year out, ever heard of drastic races when the sun and moon are in the sky together, ive seen it many times over the years were pigeons dont turn up even on training tosses, nobody needs tomake excuses has all over the country have suffered big losses and with federation winning pigeons, think about it before calling top pigeons sh**,somethink wasnt right on the day and yet no one can explain it.????? les
