Guest Hjaltland Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Hello Spin, We sent old mate, looks like they may chuck them up tomorrow. The expression 'Chuck them up' is not indicative of the attention and care spent on these birds. They've come all the way through the NR race program and this is the pinnacle of the North road racing season. From what I've seen in the past the birds are in excellent condition and are dealt with in an exemplary fashion. The guys in charge of the wagon are a credit to the sport and indeed so are the birds which make it this far. All the very best if you have birds waiting at Lerwick.. I hope you have a good one. Cheers from the sunny Shetland Islands. Kenny 8)
Ian McKay Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Hello Spin, We sent old mate, looks like they may chuck them up tomorrow. How about you going to Shetlannd and chucking them out as you state You might find it a bit different to your statement I have flown up to see how your birds are looked after and can assure you they will not be chucked out today or any other day I might give you a phone every morning at 4am to find out the weather because that's what happens in this household
REDCHEQHEN Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 I see the Lerwick birds were liberated at 6.45am today Good Luck to all who have sent

Tony C Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 I wonder what the furthest flying pigeon timed in today will be. I think to the London lads its around the 600 mile mark, if any of these get one on the day It'll be a truly amazing performance. Good luck to all that sent.
