GypUK
I've got a young bird thats about 3 weeks old. The parents have laid two more eggs in another neast box and are sitting. But i don't know what to do, they are still feeding the young bird but for how long will they? with the set up i have the young bird can't get to the floor to eat very easily, should i take it out> How old do the start to fly? If i put it on the floor will it fly back to it's nest? Sorry for all the questions but i'm a bit stuck. Thanks (i've now got five birds.! here comes VAN Gyp.!!) REDCHEQHEN
Put some food in a pot in the nest box so that the youngster can help himself - the youngster should be pecking at around 22 days old

GypUK
Thanks, do you think i should take the nest bowl from under the ybs, it's covered in muck. What sort of age do they fly?
Simeon Turner
Everything loooks fine mate - leave the nest bowl just keep the box clean has you have been doing. The youngster looks a picture of health and the cock will continue to feed the youngster until you part it.

Guest Owen
Give it a pot of food to encourage it to eat. There is no problem that I can see. Nature will take it's course and the parents will do all that is needed.

peterpau
Mate they look a picture as long as they have food and water nature will take care. The young 'un will be out of the nest soon enough. All good advice but really your only concern is where are you gonna keep 'em all. ;D ;D ;D ;D
