THE FIFER Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 What I like about the snow is,first thing in the morning is to get out and look for the cats footprints, if any. i have 5 all round me, so this morning some footprints coming up my front garden onto the top of the garage, along the wall and over to my neighbours, so not into my back garden or loft area where i have my ultrasound deterent, so its those prickly things i will get for along the wall, its obviously keeping out of the area covered by the deterant, keeping above it.
OLDYELLOW Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 a few carpet gripers and youl be cat free
THE FIFER Posted December 18, 2009 Author Report Posted December 18, 2009 a few carpet gripers and youl be cat free thats what i was thinking about, there is 5 cats all round me so think the ultrasound must work, cats certainly going the long way to get through.

Guest IB Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 Saw similar evidence few years ago, cat came into the garden but stopped opposite my loft maybes 30/40 foot away from it, turned round and walked back out way that it had come in. Ultrasonic has 50 foot radius. First of my failures was that Prickler thing sold in BHW. Bought them and put them along top of wooden fence where that cat came over, next I saw was the damn thing walking along them. Tried carpet grippers too, still coming over. Except when daughter & her dog visit.
ritchie1 Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 we bought them prickly things last year and put them all round our dikes and they work a treat only twice seen a cat since they wont stand on them twice they was expensive to buy but worth every penny mate
THE FIFER Posted December 18, 2009 Author Report Posted December 18, 2009 maybe get anothe ultrasound and have it faceing along the wall, had one out my front garden to stop them coming in that way but someone required it more than me,

Roland Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 a few carpet gripers and youl be cat free Doesn't work. One is fooling themselves into a false situation. I was a carpet fitter for many years. Have placed them side by side on top of a 2 inch wide V upside down each side on top of the fence. A Wire Mesh up one side that is bent over a mite and goes up the middle. (Have even ran a single taunt wire over the middle too to no avail) So i was amazed to see cats stroll along as is nowt there . Feet perfectly between the tacks. Supplied many to many, all say the same.... 'No Good'!
Roland Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 Have even Place gripper rods up both sides of a fence side by side.... they scramble up it as if not there. Their ability is sadly to be admired. Mind never seen or heard where they come back to plonk their nose on an Electric fence yet.
