Guest Gareth Rankin Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 Have had a pigeon reported Lemvig in the North west coast of Denmark so if anyone can help me get the pigeon home it would be greatly appreciated. Normally i would tell the fancier to keep the pigeon with it being so far away but on this occassion he is a pigeon that was stitched up last year as a yearling after coming home with a hole in his crop and this year he had one first and two second clubs with approx 400 - 500 birds. Was our main candidate in the SNFC Ypres race were he was in fantastic condition so believe that next year as a 3 year old i may get a turn from him. cheers Gareth

Fair Play Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 Pity it's a bit late as my son is due back tomorrow and it's approx 75 miles from Lemvig to Billund and he will be travelling from Arhus. Look on the bright side it's approx £85/95 return from Edinburgh to Billund depends how much the bird is worth to you.
Guest bigda Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 if your going yourself gareth remember! fags.milk, lemonade, chocolate ;D

If i could take a pigeon on a plane i would have no hesitation with the cost or time. Can get a ferry from Harwich with car to Esjberg for £500 but have a few avenues to go down before the misses issues the divorce papers for the ferry trip to Denmark.

Guest Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 Gareth have a look at the link below. Don't know if you know of this loft but he exports birds to Britain (I think) maybe he can help with a cost effective way? http://www.hansen023.dk/uk/
swilcox Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 Gareth Hanson have an agent in HOLLAND who deals with them on a very regular basis, if you can get the bird to hansens then they can send it to Holland, then Raymond can send it to the UK and then home!!!! We may even be able to get it to Glasgow from Amsterdam. Stuart
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 Thanks lads, now working on a few different options.
