I tend to look at how many prizes they take in comparison to what they send..

 

For example.. if a guy sends 70 doos and takes only one position, even if it is 1st.. is it better than a guy whos sends maybe 15 doos.. and is for example 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th, 10th, 11th, 12th..??

me personally believe it doesnt matter if you got an 90 ft loft or 10ft loft it all comes down to the birds them self well schooled birds and happy birds will always try there best to come home same as big time flyers to small time flyers it's down to the birds them self all to your own but thats the way i look at it

i say the loft that flies 10 to 15 the man flying 50 or 60 always has a chance of one or more coming into form as they all dont come into form at once so he can get more races say than the loft with only 10 to 15

well delboy put it this way if your flying say 60 birds is it the bird  you time in the one your expecting home first ? always see results in b h w with birds maybe being 1 st but not haveing pools on them . Is it that these birds are getting draged home with the beter bird that end up further down the result than they should be

I fly a small team but a good bird is born a good bird and it dont matter if it is in a loft with 10 or 1000 it is still a good bird.

Some fanciers have to breed 100s to try and find them good birds and others only breed form the birds they know will breed them.

Its down to the bird, whether you entered 15 or 70

If the bird is right on the day, a single entry can beat a team of 70

I myself like to see the smaller enrty guys up in the result. It shows that they have worked there birds well

and havent abused the situation that someone who has pots of money can send loads week in and week out.

but like everything eles money talks even in pigeon racing.

there was none this 30 years ago.

no wonder its dying.

Loads of them about, The chester 2 bird and the wirral 6 bird in just the local area to me, i have seen them in the BHW all over the place,  ask around, i think you will be supprised

it could be down to a time thing with a small team your able to spend more time with them and observe what there doing but a big team flier cant do the same . i never knock anybodys birds it could be the fancier good birds in the wrong hands .

i think you are right. but arn't pure sprint teams usually  bigger than lofts that race distance/allround ??

but if two fanciers are of equal ability and birds then , surely, the one that sends 60 will outdo the one that sends 15. surely that is why people send big teams...the only trouble is that less well off fanciers are disadvantaged and that is one factor in the decline of pigeon racing
