I am originally from Burnbank ,Hamilton before i left i bought birds of Wilson And Robert Nisbet then of Pencaitland.I always believed and still do that the best fliers in the SNFC lived in the North East my reckoning was if you lads could get them up there then i should be able to get them in to Lanarkshire.

not always the case i have had birds from N E and couldnt get them out of 100mls far less 600mls   horses for courses IMO

I know its off topic.. but flying in to the west is harder than the north east.. fact..!!!

By no means am i saying the NE is easy or anything.. it takes a great doo to get up there, but it is harder flying in to the West..

Bhoys and Bears it only my opinion,Stb like everything else it depends on the bloodlines and how they adapt,in his day Wilson Noble was one of the best flyers in the SNFC imo. Jonesbhoy i accept your opinion but to say its a fact you would have to back that up with evidence.

The Pied cock i had of Wilson Noble crossed with a Robert Nisbet hen bred the JPS  and the Seven cock for Stirling Bros of Burnbank both scored prominent positions in the Snfc he also bred The Stirling cock for Jock Alston who i believe won a Gold Award although i may be wrong about that but he did score good positions for Jock as i know that he gave my brother in law a framed photograph of him.

In the 80,s i had  quite a lot of wilsons pigeons,  but unfortunatly they couldnt hack it hear

struggled to get them  out of training far less racing.  Never had one last long enough to get to the channel.    And yes wilson flew good pigeons  but pigeons dont adapt to certain areas.

IF HE DIDNT FLY EXEPTIONALLY WELL I WOULDNT HAVE TRIED THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE

i think its more like the fact that some familys dont suit certain fanciers more than areas not sayinf one fancier is better than another but there system/management can be very diferent

jonesboy bhoy take a straight line from france to fraserburgh and see how much water our doos would have to cross if they came in a straight line and do the same to the west section if our doos come straight they would have to fly across about 200 mile of water do you think they do that or do you think they dog leg up the coast . the further north the harder in scotlands case the country is not that wide unless you stay in oban or something like that . imo the best long distance flyers are up here and walters on of them

it just gets on my t-t- when a guy works his socks off maybe spends cleverly and sticks at it for years and when he starts to win its one of three things hes cheating giving them something or its where he flys the birds too any other sport hard work gives you the right to be at the top of your game not with pigeons iam afraid

THats also correct frank they will be good fanciers where ever they go , but you need to find the birds that fly into your area and suit your management

robert when i started back up i went to fountain head and bought the very best of his dbl nat winning lines paid over £3,000 for just 4 birds like you couldnt get them out of the first y/bird race when i was scoring with gift birds i think it might be a bit different now days but like you said should at least have hommed
