If you are not using nest felts, a handful of Easibed, in the nest bowl, stops the eggs/babies resting on the bottom of the bowl and keeps them warmer.

 

I use straw/hay to make up the nest and throw cut up tobacco stalks on the loft floor, for the birds to finish their nests off. This encourages them to fly up and down for exercise and reinforces finding their own nest bowl before the eggs are laid.

If after a couple of days of weaning a y/bird you notice it blinking slowly or its eyelids seem to be drooping... dunk its head in the drinker...its not found the drinker!

on about east winds again if birds have east winds on channel racing makes some of them go up the east coast and the further they go the chanel widens and some end up in holland ive known lads in the north east of england have them reported from holland myself included

when the hens are siting on egs first thing get a old basket  with grils

in it put hens in it first thing the hen wil do is sh** let hen fly back to the eggs

then u wont have the mess to scrape or the smell in the loft

No but you will still have to clean out the Basket  ;D ;D ;D

why not just take the hen in the house and hold it over the bog ,then wipe its *expletive removed* :P :P :P :P

LAUGH SIR LAUGH you obviously have not heard of my strain of pigeons [hot of the press this one ;D ;D ;D] they are called the "FLYING TRAGEDIES" fly like bricks [yes flown by a pxxxx iv'e heard it all before] stock birds for sale at the end of the season apply early for laughable results ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

"FLYING TRAGEDIES"  ;D ;D  If that doesn't get you a few sales etc,  ;D ;D nothing will ??????? "Now !!!!!!!!" if they have good eyes  ::) ::) I will buy 1 or 2 pair  ::) ::) of you. As long as they are expensive to purchase etc , "No cheap stuff" ;) ;), I don't want rubbish.

at this time of the year,when birds are moulting. i put 15 inch plywood boards in the corners at an angle...most of the feathers find their way behind these,so making it easy to collect them :)
