i would like to swap eggs off one of my pairs to get more birds out of this pair she laid her second egg today when is the earliest i can take the eggs away and put them under another pair,

hi i always use a good pr to resit them under m8  & i like them to be on eggs at same time  , i d remove them 2/ 4 days      

 

the others laid a day before mate so thats not a problem

i allways leave them 6/7 days i have shifted the eggs right away but put cheenys under them and let them sit on

Give 'em a week. But then how do you know you're doing the right thing? My pigeon that flew Perth Pau and Palamos + a winner at Yelverton was bred from a stray!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D

You've got to give the hen's vents time to close and for her system to return to normal. Wait 7 - 10 days before taking eggs away. You'd stress out the cock too asking him to go through all that driving routine again, just a few days after coming off that part of the cycle.

10 days you'll get as many youngsters as you need at that they're racing pigeons not battery hens
