Jeams Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 How do you guys call this as pic follows.Is it called swan goose or else?I got a pair,someone caught and sent to my uncle,finally i became the owner of them,one is male and another is female.I waiting for their babies.We call it "鸿é›"=HongYan,i don't know how you guys call it.

Guest Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 first picture Jeams , look like Canadian geese to me ,which i would think are more likely to be , due to youre location . the white birds my freind are Swans , and here in the U.K. are protected by law , as all belong to H.R.H The Queen . andy.

Not all swans are owned by the queen as there are others that own swans , saw a intresting documenty a few months back about it

Doesn't ' Hong Yan ' mean wild goose. I think what you may have is a pair of Chinese Geese or African Geese ( sometimes hard to tell the difference ) PS. African Geese originate in China !!

Yeah,it is a kind of wild goose,protected by law also.I was thinking they would lay eggs very soon since yesterday i saw they mate.
