Guest frank dooman Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 why do we pigeon fancies allways think we know better than the birds cant see that ring causeing any probs yes a bit concerned about the quality of the ring and the posiblity of it spliting and thats without trying to remove the lugs but i think some are jumping the gun what if you change to one of the ets that are only useing that type of chip and you have removed the lugs your stuffed give them a chance and if there is a prob simple just change them
Guest Jargre- Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 why ring them with rpra rings when you are a member or the whu :-/. and by the way i am not a member of the goon squad i,m just asking a legitamate question :-/ :oIt's my business who I choose to ring my birds with, never said you were a member of the goon squad, everyone knows who they are.
Guest stb- Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 The lugs must be causing 'a problem' otherwise RPRA wouldn't agree to them being taken off. Good that users share information & experience with others. I B , most of the fanciers were shouting about the lugs even before they had even used them , and some before they had even seen them , having seen a good lot of yb with them on there has been no problems encountred so far mountains out of mole hills :-/
Delboy Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 I was ringing a few young ones and checked them for throwing the rings just in case and lo and behold two of them had, it seems they don't like them lumpy ets edges on the new style rings as they are probably digging into them in the nest. Might be best advised to double check every day til they can't come off no more. Has anyone else had any problems with them? A wee bit tape round them m8.

Guest stb- Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 It's my business who I choose to ring my birds with, never said you were a member of the goon squad, everyone knows who they are. Any one can ring birds with whatever rings they want as you say , but why use rings if you think they are hurting your babies in the nest. By the way who is the goon squad :-/ :-/
Guest Jargre- Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 A wee bit tape round them m8. Thanks Delboy, I did work out how to keep them on by using a cotton wool twist to keep them on, won't harm the doos and only need to keep them on for a couple of days and twist them off again, by then their feet are like dinosaurs. Good idea though mate.

Guest IB Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 I B , most of the fanciers were shouting about the lugs even before they had even used them , and some before they had even seen them , having seen a good lot of yb with them on there has been no problems encountred so far mountains out of mole hills :-/ Then why have RPRA authorised removal of these lugs? I've seen one of that type, but I'll be double-checking tomorrow that it is another type that SHU are introducing in 2011.

Guest stb- Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 You like that saying don't you. :X I only asked the question, its you goon squad who makes the mountains. And for the second time i answered your question simply , :-/ its you that seems to have the mountain :-/ attached to your rings :
Fair Play Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 It may have been better to leave the ring as it was and for the ETS manufactures to make a clip ring to attach if you want to use ETS then there would have been no outcry. Everybody happy ;)
tjloft Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 I have found no probs with them so far - they are just a ring!!!!
Guest cowboy Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 The lugs will be causing 'a problem' otherwise RPRA wouldn't agree to them being taken off only put on for ets boys what happend to choice thought ets was brought in for the disabled so does this mean we are disabled having to have these bloody rings will get WHU RINGS NEXT YEAR >

Guest cowboy Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 what cost are you saying none ets flyers are paying towardes your rings
atlantic Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 have the rpra agreed to the ring being "tampered "with?
greenlands Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 have the rpra agreed to the ring being "tampered "with? Yes.
Guest bigda Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 what cost are you saying none ets flyers are paying towardes your rings so it has come about then, nothing to do with the ring just upset about having then, thats all and want to destroy them as a protest, as you dont have ets all of a sudden them rings are the problem, i think you shouldent be made to damage them, imo get other rings then. as if it came about through your death or such and your doos all had there rings damaged, you birds are going to be worth less to your family young in particular of no use to sell to ets flyers bigda as it is
PIGEON_MAN Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 whats the point taken them off you cant sell the bird to some one that buys it to race with the ets, mountains out of molehills right enough is it to with the cost more like ;D I believe all the ETS companies still use the large ets ring so no problem,if you have Bricon you have 3 or 4 differant choises of ring so again no problem if you cut the lugs off.
PIGEON_MAN Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 what cost are you saying none ets flyers are paying towardes your rings Nothing at all RPRA rings are about the same price as last year.
