Guest bakes Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 there a buzzard that flys around most mornings when i am seeing to my birds never had no problems and ive had my birds fly towards it buzzard dont seem bothered more worried about the local pergrines, hen sparrow hawks and goshawks around my way
catchthepigeon Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 The pigeons know buzzards will do them no harm after flying around with them present for so long and not being attacked although a buzzard having a hard winter will take the odd bird but they prefer carrion

Guest stb- Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 got one thats sites on telegraph pole behind loft .The pigeons dont bother about it and it never looks at them. They dont even get jumpy when it flutters over loft to land on the pole. They seem to know, if it was the sparrowhawk it would be different they would be off like rockets

Guest stb- Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 I dont believe pigeons mob bop WHATS THE FIRST THING PIGEONS DO WHEN THEY see a bop there up and off there not up and attacking the bop maybe it does happen but iv never seen it happen in 30 years When the peregrine is here my pigeons also fly up to it and cirlce round about it bumping into it, Fact, they no it dont get them when there right beside it. I have seen mine cirle round it for haf an hour at a time untill it wanders of ;)
