for the longer races b denney,c gordon,d immpet, b sheppard, g+c cooper,m gilbert, padfields could go on all day, having not been in the sport long ones who've been catching my eye a lot on the extreme distance is those boys nichollson or something from rochester.

Would first off valueate your Location.... Frank Did. Clare Bewbold, Toseland Biss etc etc. the list is endless. Fact is no matter who you buy off, then most likely the best one can realistically aim for is Section Placing. But then again, the 'Names have expanded continuously over the years to put the also runs into the section to bolster their Coffers.

Check the wind.... further east you are the better the Position... and let me state here and now, not neccesarily the flyer.

You can buy off who you want, it doesn't mean for a second that they are going to be winners just because they're off the likes of 'Frank Tasker'.  One top man said to me just the other week, 'I an give you the tools but its up to you how you work with them'.  Names don't always mean anything, an unknown has been known to win a national or two now and again I'm sure.    ;)

Sorry Mate, misunderstood.

I knew both Alan Sales and Mike Young very well. Alan used to come to Blackpool with us and Mike lived in the next village and was a long time member of Farrington Gurnay.

most top fanciers will sell you birds for good money but as you rightly state it means nothing as the birds are not the man and his methods
