I flew natural with hens this year and go good performances but you only get a few races out of them when they are in form for example a hen on chipping eggs. Going to try widowhood as well next year with a few cocks

Had 8 pairs on natural 2008 season - and although the cocks did well on the longer races - the hens did not on any of them..............

Having lost a few cocks from the natural section - and not knowing what to do with the spare hens - they were put in with the roundabout hens three quarters of the way through the season - and did much better

Not flying natural in 2009

But this is just my experience - I actually found 'natural' flying hard work (shrug)

why is it easier 2 fly natural i think its as hard becuase yu must have 2 train them more than widdowers basicaly everyother day i would think the hens dont fly as good as widdowers around the garden

i race all way through on the widowhood system up to 512 miles and you can win the long ones as well , i just let the long distance candidates have there hen for 48 hrs before basketing :)

hit the nail on the head.  i was surprised by the poll showing natural ahead....thinking widowhood would be most popular. perhaps some widowhood flyers are switching to roundabout...and if you add the 2 together they poll highest. is celibate in fact doublewidowhood?  i fly natural as i find it easiest to organise excersize routines...i wouldn't have time for 2 sets of birds to have 2 seperate excersize periods/day. i'd be interested to know how people organise their excersize periods around loft/training.

i fly double widowhood cocks and hens the cocks go out first early morning for one hour i i then let out the hen s and they will fly for a couple of hours at least and let themselvs back in  after this they dont need much training much easier than natural

no evening excersize?....basically the hens are on open hole for morning. on raceday birds trap back to own sections ?

roundabout worked best for me and the hens won more than the cocks from the harder races :)

I've found my natural birds fly ok around the loft i turn both the cock and hen out. You have to moviate them more though like put starnge cock in their box etc and other tricks but when a natural pigeon is right espcially a hen on chipping eggs I'd put it against a widowhood cock any day. Just requires a lot of work and I've found the hens perform a lot better than my cocks which is why I'm going to fly some cocks on widowhood this year and a a few hens on nat so have the best of both worlds.

I race on natural but I think its a little more than most people call natural I open the traps and let them fly I think a lot of open loft and plenty of feed will make you hard to beat I do exceptional when everyone else is having trouble getting birds in !!
