Guest stb Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 Seems like the truth hurts by the way maybe u and ur father are trying to be the best in ur chosen sport but u must remember this not everybody is like that there r plenty little men in the sport who dont have the same ambitions as yourselfs. all people start in this sport as little men, some stay little men , but it is ambition that pushes you up the ladder along with hard work and determination. If thats what gareth and his father want to do whats that got to do with you. everyone s got the right to try and acheive the level they want. usually little dogs do a lot of yapping.

Guest stb Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 Naw but iam thinking about starting. obviously if you were at the lsc presentation you must no some of the fanciers there including the two who are top contenders, if you are thinking of starting i dont think you could do better than ask some of them for some birds. get you started of on the wright footing. (ok)(ok)
budgie Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 Mate i widnae go to a loft that was as competative as them. Firstly you would not get access to them and secondly you could not afford them. You keep to your level which cannot be very high and buy your stock from under the bridge, or the Aged Stock Birds which are due on the market.

Well you and Newburgh are a pair well matched. I wish I had the record of the Rankins and their drive. I suspect it's not your chosen sport because you haven't been good enough, you've got a huge chip, will you ever get rid ? I doubt it. Newburgh sorry not allowed to ask about the Gold Cup? it's come up on the thread and why can't it run on the same thread, ok so I'm not a Scot but I have a great admiration for Scottish fanciers especially the distance men, aren't I allowed to ask about these great fanciers, after all I'm not coming on to knock compatriots like slinky, good name that.
JADE Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 looks like a long weekend......cant see a race before monday unless weather changes in france

Guest Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 Move up to the north of scotland and we will see how good you and your doos are (see if your good enough) :P Don't need to move to know how difficult it is too fly to (and have spent a short time at Ullapool and travelled around from there) and don't need to live there to admire the fanciers. My birds aren't good enough and perhaps neither am I. But you can send me some good uns, would gratefully recieve any quality birds from any miserable git.

Guest Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 Move up to the north of scotland and we will see how good you and your doos are (see if your good enough) :P Off topic as such, so another one to complain about but the birds are held at the mo so not taking up any space on the topic. The first good bird I had was out of a pigeon I bought in 1979 or 1980 (80 I think) from Ritchie & Whyte. I bought a pair as YB lost one racing I think (stupid should have gone in the stock loft). Anyway they were grandchildren of Storm Queen. As a yearling I bred out of the hen I had left, a YB out of her took 2nd club, 5th section (3/4000 birds) from Carlisle in a 10 hour fly (220mile) The following year the same bird was 1st club and something like 5th fed from 150 mile with a velocity in the 1600's a pigeon to fly fast and hard. Sadly I found the hen dead sitting her first round of eggs as a 2 yo. And one last point any of you northern lads got any good distance l/b or old stock I'm more than happy to take them of your hands ;D ;D. I have some l/b Davy Wall has bred for me as part of a swap and they are being picked up from Davy on Tuesday or Wednesday, just send them with them. :X ;D
