pigeonpete Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 Andy, dont think thats wise, most people start yb racing this weekend, and if your only still training, i take it they are not ready to race yet? i would take them late sat, or sunday depending on weather. There will be alot of birds in the sky sat if weather is fine. just my opinion :-)

Guest Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 were for navan!! hope its a nice steady wind!! no blow homes
Guest pigeon82 Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 no blow home by the looks of it just looked at weather wind is west by northwest so might be a tough slow race for the young birds
OLDYELLOW Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 i never let ybs out on a saturday unless there racing , and no good training on a Saturday as there be a lot of lost birds that could take your birds wandering
Guest Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 no blow home by the looks of it just looked at weather wind is west by northwest so might be a tough slow race for the young birds i hope so!! get them used to it early!!!!
peterpau Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 I wouldn't take them till late evening. We don't start our young birds till 25th. My old uns are still going until 1st of August BBC Bordeaux. I often start mine on a saturday evening but they went yesterday as I'm off work for a few days.
ryesway Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 NRCC are racing from thurso , plus club racing to
magpie Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 We never used to even let our YBs out on Saturdays in case they were picked up by race birds - but now we figure the odds on them ending up as Percy's supper are decreased if they go out when there are lots of other birds about. Providing they have been ranging for a while, we reckon the ones with any brains will sort themselves out.
